Dunsfold Park Challenge Inspectorate Decision on CLEUD Appeal

Thursday, 24 May 2012

On Monday 14th May 2012 Dunsfold Park Ltd served a claim under S288 in the High Court against the decision of the Planning Inspectorate to dismiss the appeal against Waverley Borough Council's refusal to grant a Certificate of Lawfulness of Existing Use and Development for aviation activities at the aerodrome.

A spokesperson for Dunsfold Park Ltd comments: "Whilst we are extremely pleased that the Inspector's decision made a significant leap forward in determining the aerodrome's longer term future, the claim has been served in order to clarify some issues which remain unresolved following the decision. We hope to resolve this matter swiftly and remain committed to exploring the site's future as an aviation centre.

The claim has been made against the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government seeking to quash the recent decision of the Planning Inspector.

Naturally, Dunsfold Park Ltd would prefer to have avoided the need to pursue this matter, but in our view, uncertainty remains over parts of the Inspector's conclusions. It is for this reason, that it is important to have the matter considered further.

In the meantime, we will continue to work with Waverley Borough Council and other interested parties, in exploring both the medium and longer term planning polices for the site."
