Apprentice set to take-off at Dunsfold Park

Friday, 15 March 2013

As the sixth annual National Apprenticeship Week comes to a close Dunsfold Park Ltd is delighted to announce the appointment of apprentice Georgina West, who has joined the team at the Estate Office as a PR, Marketing and Events Assistant.

With support from the National Apprenticeship Service and Weir Training Ltd, the process of appointing an apprentice was quick, efficient and delivered a significant number of high calibre young people who were actively looking and engaged with the prospect of learning through employment.

Georgina joins the team to learn administrative and event skills whilst working on our Air Show, Wings & Wheels. The scheme requires the appointment of a mentor who will help Georgina attain her business qualification and teach her the basic skills required for the job. Already settling in and finding her feet, she comments: "It has been great so far, I've learnt so much already. I'm really enjoying this opportunity to combine working and gaining qualifications through this apprenticeship which will help me progress my career."

Jim McAllister, Chief Executive of Dunsfold Park Ltd, comments: "The decision to look at recruitment through the National Apprenticeships Scheme fits well with the work we already do with youth and education. The scheme has delivered excellent results so far, enabling us to grow our team and give a young person the chance to learn and develop essential skills in the workplace. We are delighted Georgina has joined us and look forward to nurturing her career at Dunsfold Park."
