Hollywood Stars Flying Visit to Dunsfold Park

A-List Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz flew in to Dunsfold Park yesterday, Thursday 22nd July, to test their skills on the aerodromes famous track as they promoted new film Knight and Day on Top Gear.
The two stars took turns to drive the reasonably priced car round the track under the watchful eye of the Stig. On lookers were thrilled with the couple’s antics as at one point Mission Impossible star Cruise careered round the track on two wheels and the Stig had to rescue Diaz as the Kia broke down.

Car mad, Tom Cruise said of his experience on the track: "It was fun, very fun. I like fast cars and motorcycles. I've always loved them since I was a kid."

Not content with just racing round the track, the two stars were also intent on discovering the Stig's true identity. Mission failed though as the helmet refused to give up its secret!

Tom Cruise proved that his motoring skills weren’t his only talents as he revealed to the Dunsfold Aviation Team that he holds his own private pilot’s licence and frequently takes to the skies in his Pitts Special light aerobatic biplane.

Gerry Forristal, Dunsfold Park Ltd comments: “Dunsfold Park has seen its fair share of stars but we were all thrilled to welcome Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz to the aerodrome. As a qualified pilot Tom was really interested in the history of the site and our airshow Wings & Wheels. Unfortunately filming commitments means he couldn’t take up our invitation to display at the Show    but he wished us luck in our fundraising efforts.”
