Dunsfold Park Statement on Eco-Towns Announcement

3 April 2008

Dunsfold Park Limited is naturally disappointed not to have been selected in this initial list of Eco-Towns. Whilst the reason is unknown, DPL have always been aware that their proposals for 2600 dwellings were below the size threshold set by the Government for Eco-Towns. DPL nevertheless believe that, in spite of the site having physical capacity to accommodate the government's minimum numbers, 2600 homes alongside 2000 jobs is an appropriate scale of mixed use development for the villages surrounding Dunsfold and in particular Cranleigh.

DPL will examine the shortlisted schemes to assess whether they include any facets which will help to improve the Master Plan. However, this decision does not affect the overall plans for Dunsfold Park and a planning application will be submitted to Waverley Borough Council this week.
