Thursday, 02 February 2012

Pride of Britain winner Major Phil Packer MBE started the Surrey leg of his epic 2012 mile charity walk today, Thursday 2nd February, at Dunsfold Park, Surrey. Phil was supported by staff and students from Ripley Court and Jigsaw School CABASĀ® along with staff from Dunsfold Park who joined him walking around the Aerodrome's perimeter road in an effort to reach his daily ten mile target.

Dunsfold Aerodrome is one of 40 airports in the South East of England to be regulated in the lead-up to the Olympics as part of plans to prevent Heathrow becoming swamped by over 500,000 international visitors expected during the Games.

Dunsfold Park Ltd submitted an application on 22nd November 2011 to Waverley Borough Council for permission to temporarily extend aviation movements over the Olympic period.

Jim McAllister, Chief Executive of Dunsfold Park Ltd, was delighted to attend the Traffic OCU Commendations Ceremony at their HQ in Empress State Building, Fulham on Friday 14 October, to accept, on behalf of Dunsfold Park, the Traffic OCU Commander's Certificate of Merit for providing support and assistance to the Road Death Investigation Unit's field days.
